Catalog Management
Catalog Management
The **Catalog Management** module is where you build your library's bibliographic database. Before you can add a book, you must define its attributes (Author, Publisher, Language). This module separates the **"Book Title"** (Intellectual content) from the **"Book Copy"** (Physical item), ensuring efficient inventory tracking.
Metadata Configuration
These masters act as drop-down options while adding a book. You must populate them first to ensure standardized data entry.
Author Master
Define book authors (e.g., J.K. Rowling, H.C. Verma).
Publisher Master
Add publishing houses (e.g., Pearson, Penguin, Oxford).
Catalog Category
Classify books (e.g., Fiction, Science, Journal, Reference).
Language Master
English, Hindi, Punjabi, French, etc.
Book Inventory
Books (Title Master)
This is where you register a unique book title (e.g., "Physics by H.C. Verma"). You link it to the Author, Publisher, and Subject here. This entry represents the *book itself*, not the physical copies.
Book Copies
This is where you add physical stock. If you bought 50 copies of "Physics by H.C. Verma", you will create 50 entries here, each with a unique **Accession Number** (Barcode ID) and **Shelf Location**.
Category Wise Book View
A quick reporting module to see how many titles and copies you have per category.
